Reverse DNS, also known as rDNS, is a process of resolving an IP address to a domain name. This is useful when you want to whitelist a server’s IP address with a service that requires a domain name.
Most web hosting companies offer rDNS management as part of their web hosting plans. If you’re using Virtualizor, you can set up rDNS for your server by following these steps:
- 1. Log in to the Virtualizor control panel and select the server you want to manage.
- 2. Click on the “Network” tab and then select the “Reverse DNS” option.
- 3. Enter the desired domain name in the “Domain Name” field and click on the “Add” button.
- 4. That’s it! Your rDNS entry will be created and should propagate within a few minutes.
